Converting a JPG to DWG isn't just a "save as" operation. The software must perform (or raster-to-vector conversion). It analyzes the image, detects edges, and recreates them as geometric objects.

Converting these raster images into scalable, editable vector DWG files is a common but frustrating task. Most online tools promise a "free" service, only to slam you with a paywall, require a credit card, or—most annoyingly—force you to create an account or sign up for "email updates" (the dreaded "email upd").

If you need professional-grade accuracy and don’t mind a one-time temp email, Autodesk’s free viewer is superior. And if you handle sensitive blueprints (bank plans, confidential patents), never upload them online—install Inkscape and LibreCAD on your local machine instead.
