Modern DPEs are trained to spot "bank monkeys." They will take a question from the PDF—say, "What is the maximum allowable flap extension altitude?" —and change one word. The PDF says "20,000 feet." The oral exam ensures you know how to keep the airplane from killing you. A patched PDF—even if it existed—cannot give you system understanding. It cannot teach you why the bleed air switches go on in a specific order, or what happens if you lose both generators after engine start. That is the only patch that works
